About

We Build Proving Grounds

Sunburnt Space Co is the proving ground for the space economy. The place where science and hardware get proven before they go to space, and where one day people will too.

Who We Are

Where Space Begins

We are not a transport company. The race to move mass to orbit is crowded and commoditising fast, and a company that starts at 80 km does not win it by trying to out-truck the giants. Our edge is iteration, not transportation. We own the layer the transport companies do not even operate at, the place things get proven. Proving is step one of every space mission ever flown, and proving is us.

The Proving-Ground Thesis

A Front Door, Not a Fence

Being the proving ground tells the world who we are. It does not cap what we do. We can be the proving ground and still fly higher, reach orbit, and human-rate a vehicle later, none of which contradicts the identity. We lead with the concrete and credible thing, and let the scale reveal itself rather than announcing it.

How We Scale

We Do Not Scale by Betting Bigger. We Scale by Spinning Faster

Every flight turns a wheel. We fly a low-cost flight. We learn, because every flight returns data, proves a payload, and earns flight heritage. That proof earns the next flight, and the trust built over time brings customers back and brings their peers in. Then we climb, each cycle reaching higher and carrying more than the last. The wheel is how a vehicle flying to 80 km becomes the foundation of something far larger.

The Ladder of Proving Grounds

Same Wheel, One Tier Further Out Each Time

The same move repeats outward. A suborbital proving ground today. Then orbital, then cislunar, then lunar. Each tier is a business in its own right and the infrastructure that makes the next one reachable. We never have to pitch a separate space-economy play. We just build proving grounds, further out each time, and the broader vision becomes the byproduct of climbing our own ladder.

The Journey So Far

Milestones

  • Designed, built, and tested our first liquid bipropellant engine
  • Completed our first launch
  • Generated our first revenue
  • Customers on the manifest, with a pipeline across research and hardware

Roadmap

The Road Ahead

  1. 2026
    Now

Test flights underway, first commercial flights, first engine and first launch behind us.

  2. 2027

Mini Meggs flying monthly to 80 km from White Cliffs, NSW.

  3. 2028

Ginger Meggs flying, opening higher altitudes and hypersonic test work.

  4. Beyond

Meggs 11 to orbit, then the climb outward along the ladder.
